Update to Strep
I did go back to the doctor again for my strep on Saturday. They gave me a stronger antibiotic and steroids. I tell ya I slept like a log Saturday night. Best sleep I've had in a long time. The swelling has gone down and I can eat and drink pain free. That was a double edged sword. LOL. It was nice to have the couple day diet, but wow the no energy really had me worried. Nice to feel myself again. :)
Sunday & Monday - Cleaning and Softball...Whew!!
Yesterday was pretty uneventful yet productive. I spent the day catching up on my DVR doing laundry. Then I got a burst of energy and cleaned out my pantry and kitchen cupboards! That felt good. My evening was spent watching my shows...True Blood and Entourage. Honestly, I think I'm getting bored with Entourage. We'll give it a bit longer as it has to get better.
Tonight was ball night and it was tourney time. We played at 6pm and kept going until we lost. I was a little nervous as I still don't have a lot of energy from being sick. The first game we did quite well. Ihad to play catch because we were short a girl. I hate that position! I always have this image of... WHACK!! right to my head. I could do without that. LOL. We won seven to four. WHOOT!! What a punk team, it was great to push them out of the play offs! Game two was right after.
This game was not so hot...or maybe it was! We started on the wrong foot and then let the team get under our skin. The girls were nothing but trash talking...kids close your ears...bitches. Yep. They shoved a player off a base, stood in the way of the plate and to top it off the Ump was getting cozy with their catch all night. What can you do? We have some guys - you know who you are - who can't quit talking when you get pissed. Walk away - ha! No, Blue had to warn our team; once more and we were out! Wouldn't have been so bad if the other team had got the same treatment. Well, long story short we lost that game. Couldn't see that comin could ya? It was only ten to six. We should have won but our heads weren't on straight.
Of course certain players had to go up to Blue and continue to talk smack. It got bad. In fact, as I sit typing this, my brothers (I won't say who) are still at the field. They are 'watching'. Translation: Mom stayed to keep the boys in the right & prevent any fights. HaHa! My whole family is the same. Years ago it was my mom & dads team, fast forward and now it's their kids turn.
Overall it was a great season and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I really miss playing. Took me a bit to get back in the groove. My hitting is nice and solid if I do say so myself. Now if I can work some extra power and place it where I want. Hmmm. Now what do I do with Monday nights? I was thinking kick boxing. Something I can do indoors because damn it's getting too cold outside. Maybe racket ball? Any ideas?

P.S.
Ty's indoor soccer is off for now. :( Not enough players. Maybe come January.

Thurs Oct 16 Strep Throat
Went to the doc today and found out I have strep. UGH!! Started my antibiotics and hope to be back to work tomorrow (I didn't go again today). Been doing a lot of sleeping and staying in my room to avoid getting anyone else sick. Already feeling a little better; hungry, but better.

Tues Oct 14
Today I left work early...I think I'm getting the flu. Tyson had his orthodontist appointment. It went well. They removed some of his spacers and brackets and gave him new bands. His teeth were hurting all night. It's a short school week for him and he's glad to only have one more day left this week. Progress reports show that he has all A's and two B's. He still loves Middle School except all the extra work. If he only knew...LOL. No soccer practice or games this week. Ty's deciding if he wants to play indoor soccer or not. Let's hope yes!

Monday Oct 13th - Softball
Tonight we started our Tourny games; one at 8pm the other at 9pm. I love the late games except for tonight....BRRRR it was cold. Ty is there to cheer us on & play with his new softball' friends. Not tonight. He stayed huddled on the bench in multiple jackets and a blanket! To catch some of you up: I play on a team with Josh, Ryan, Mom and Chris. We have a great time and what funner way to stay in shape. Comcast gave us our shirts and a few other players work there as well. The entire season has been fillied with both good and bad games. We had a not so great first game. There were a lot of errors in the field and the officiating put us on the negative. We should have won the game. Game two started on a better note. We were relaxing and in better spirits the entire game. We won and will play again next Monday at 6pm. Wish us luck!

Sunday October 12th
Today was pretty simple; house cleaning, homework, reading and relaxation. Later in the afternoon we went to my parents for dinner and family night. Our family night was about setting various goals for yourself. Good food for thought. Food was great as usual and the family is always good company. MIA was Ryan, Chandler, Josh and Missy...Hope to see you next time!

Saturday 11th - OK Gala
My work had a table at the Operation Kids (OK) Gala this year and me and Troy were lucky to attend. It was in honor of Jon Walsh. It was a black tie affair; I loved dressing up, Troy was not as excited. I won't get into great detail about the why's and who's as I have a link to the site below. If you get a free minute check it out. In addition to those on the agenda, we saw the Attny General, Orrin Hatch and Elizabeth Smart. Food was great and so was the entertainment. As we were leaving I went to get my coat and guess who I ran into...David Archuletta, yep! We were in the hall so I had to get my pix taken with him. Poor Troy missed out cuz he was in the men's room. He doesn't like AI stuff, so I think he would have just rolled his eyes had he been there. LOL. What a cute kid...and me a a dork for asking for a picture! We got some nice free stuff too; CD's, laptop case, leather notebook, DVD and book. What a wonderful organization! They do so much for our kids that I think many of us take for granted. I even got a little emotional during the event. Did I say what an incredible evening?

Saturday 11th - Soccer
More cold weather. Ty had a double header in soccer, with half hour between games! It started snowing on the way to the field. Lucky or not there was no more snow, only rain for both games. His team did well in the first one; winning by one point in the last seconds of the game. Ty did well playing defense the entire game. Not his fav position, but he does well there. This kept their undefeated status. The second game was not so good. Within five minutes we were down by 4; I think it was the hotdogs the other coach brought for the kids between games. LOL. By the end of the game we lost 9 to 5. A high scoring game for soccer. Tyson played mid and forward this game and had some incredible passes. He almost scored a goal with one off his knee! He's had such imporovment this year. It makes me so proud of him!

Friday 10th - Football
Friday evening was spent watching Justin's high school football game. It was their homecoming and the first homecoming game they won in 12years! They were excited to say the least. It was freezing the entire time and such a releif to head to the truck with a heater. I have to admit that seeing some of those kids scare me...Ty will be in high school in just a few short years!!
